Hello! Thank you for visiting my site! I am beginning my sixth year of teaching Kindergarten at Indian Hills Elementary School.
I grew-up here in Pocatello and attended Highland High School and then Idaho State University where I completed my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently completing my Masters Degree from Michigan State University with an emphasis in Literacy and Special Education.
My husband and I have two wonderful children that keep us extremely busy! We enjoy running as a family on the weekends and in the evenings. I enjoy reading just about everything but really enjoy young adult fiction. I love all kind of music and play 6 different instruments.
I didn't know that I was meant to be a Kindergarten teacher. In fact, I was sure that I didn't want to teach Kindergarten when I was offered the job. I accepted it thinking it would be good experience and a way to get my foot in the door. Two weeks into teaching my first year I realized that Kindergarten is where I am meant to be! Kindergarteners are so excited to learn (they are honestly excited about everything)! I love that I am the teacher that helps them learn to love school and knowing that my classroom is a place when they can explore and make mistakes. My classroom is so much more than just a classroom, we are truly a family, I tell my students that I love them every single day and work hard to establish a caring community where we support and help each other to reach our full potential. Kindergarten teacher is much more than my job, it defines who I am and how I look at life.
