RESUME
CERTIFIED EC / ECSE (BLENDED) EDUCATOR and MASTERS IN SPECIAL EDUCATION AND LITERACY – Committed, Compassionate, Constructivist
I am a very dedicated and hardworking educator. I chose Early Childhood as my emphasis because I feel this is the most important time in the life of a child, where I am able to make the most difference. This also allows me to work with families and children with special needs. I strive to find a way to connect with each child to help them reach their full potential. All children learn differently and it is my job as an educator to modify my
teaching to reach each child. I chose my master's emphasis because I feel that Special Education helps me better reach each and every one of my students by broadening my approach to teaching. I chose Literacy because I feel that it is truly the most basic and important building block for early learners to master.
Title I Kindergarten Teacher, Indian Hills Elementary
2011 - present
I teach full-time Kindergarten in Pocatello, ID for School District 25. This is a difficult position because our Kindergarteners only attend school part-time on alternating days. This means that in a typical year I have between 40-50 students to form a connection with and differentiate instruction for. In addition to my teaching responsabilities, I also supervise a full-time paraprofessional. I have been the PEA (Pocatello Education Association) representive for my school for two years. I have also represented my grade level on the building leadership team for 3 years.

Substitute Teaching, School District 25
December 2010 - May 2011
I was a substitute teacher in School District 25 after I completed my teaching degree until I was hired to teach full-time. A majority of my substituting was done as maternity leave in first grade. This gave some unique experiences, as it was the end of the year. I had a lot of interaction with parents, wrote my own lesson plans, coordinated a field trip and an end of year program.
