My classroom is controlled chaos and that is how I like it. I like to present my students with lots of choices that are hands-on and open-ended. I believe that a classroom that is working is constantly in motion, a little noise and a lot of fun! Choice is a great motivator for students and allows me to teach each of my students to help them reach their full potential.
I allow my students a lot of freedom in where they choose to work.
Carving pumpkins is one of our favorite activities. We tie this in to our science, reading and writing for the month.
We do lots of hands on, open-ended activities.
Acting out stories is a great way to help students learn how to retell the important parts.
Kindergarteners need lots of "wiggle breaks" we shake our sillies to many different educational songs.
Sight words can be taught lots of different ways! We have remade several popular board games to focus on sight words.
Apple day is my favorite day in Kindergarten. We do apple art, eat apple, graph apples and make books about apples.
My sweet class.
Watching students grow in the best part of being a Kindergarten teacher!
